jingles1928
My second GPI pump in less than three years gave it up today. fill rite any good, not much else out there I can find local . Open to hand pump but 12Vdc is ok and it wouldn't be hard to put 120v out to the tank, although a little pricy. Thanx

midnightman
Never had any issues with our fill rites, both 12v and 120v. 12v pump is probably 25 years old.
Gearclash
They can all take a crap. First Filrite I had burned out after not that many years. The next 2 I bought are still going. I would advise protecting them from rain.
yellowrosefarm
Anybody ever used an air operated pump for this kind of tank? I myself have an old gasboy hand crank pump on mine, but I don't have any tractors with over a 20 gallon tank. https://www.piusi.com/usa/products/ma-130 I don't know anything about these, just an example of a diaphragm, and an inline. https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200785638_200785638?cm_mmc=Google-pla&utm_source=Google_PLA&utm_medium=Fuel Transfer %2B Lubrication > Oil Pumps > Air Operated Oil Pumps&utm_campaign=Ironton&utm_content=83556&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI94D_sbii-wIVgrrICh07vACxEAQYAiABEgLVifD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
nomorejohndeere
have you checked the electrical connections in side the casing?
hobbyfarm
I have 2 gpi pumps. The one on the gas tank is from 2012 according to the data plate and has over 15000 gallons through it. Not a lot of gallons for some of you guys I'm sure but it works the same as new. I have a cheaper one on the diesel tank. I just looked at the data plate and it says 2 year warranty. Is your's out of warranty? Definitely a difference in quality between these 2 pumps.
brahamfireman
What went bad? Think we've got a filrite at dad's, 120V. I think it was north of 23K gallons on the counter the other day, its Been outside its whole life.

Do you have direct connections off tractor battery for the 12 volt hookup? Unless we have a bad winter I only go about 150-175 gallons a year
Lazy WP
I have a fill rite. Probably had it for 10 years. Ex boss had it before me. I loaned it to my father in law and he ran ethanol through it then I let it sit for a couple years. The seal leaked something terrible. Lisa found a complete rebuild kit for $100. That includes vanes seals the entire thing. I would buy another.

Worked great until everything we had was diesel.
nomorejohndeere
is the switch replaceable ? I've had fillrite stop working. Take the cover off and it's just a toggle switch that was all corroded. Obviously it was condensation damage. you can rebuild the pumps but I couldn't find anybody to touch the 12v motor. raise it on a stand and gravity......... Small battery clamps like on a battery charger. Clip on to pump, unhook when done
1480x3
Have had several GPI pumps. Currently have 1. Don't think i've had one last more than 4 years. My 1st fill rite, new 1000 gal tank & pump in 1977, lasted till mid 2000s. 2nd fill rite went on my 2nd 1000 gal tank around 1990 is still working fine. My 3rd fill rite replaced the 1st fill rite in mid 2000s. Fill rites are more $$ but much longer life in my experience. My GPI pumps have all been on small 300 & 500 gal tanks that are low use, one didn't pump 1000 gal before failing, But they are cheap. I think gas in general is harder on the seals than diesel. Sitting dry doesn’t help either. If I remember, I will take pictures of it all when I replace the seals. Mainly for industrial situations where you have big screw compressors.
sandhiller
Have both GPI and Fillrite, 12v. No issues with the FillRite yet. Thought my GPI gave up the ghost the other day. Flipped the switch and nothing. Took the round side cover off where the motor drives the pump and ran the gears by hand. They were stuck just a bit. Put back together and it has been working fine since.
Missouri Mule
Have trashed several GPI's. Have 2 junk right now. All suffer same issue. The motor is sealed towards the pump and it leaks diesel into the motor windings. Switches all failed due to overcurrent first only to figure out the motors were shot. Brother in law has 2 same way. The second one posted in pictures above. I have fillrites that are very good. First one I have is probably 20 years old. I'd hate to even know how much its pumped. For the last 4 years it will pump 50 gallon and thermal out, then reset itself and pump another 50. I've got every penny worth and will continue to use it until it's dead or I have time to pull it apart and throw some brushes at it. Second fillrite is only 4 years old. Its quieter and faster than my old one. Both are 20gpm.
