Farmall1066
Congratulations!! Not a great time to build with inflated prices, but you won’t regret it, and wish you would have done in years sooner!!!

AKwelder
You won’t regret building the shop. although methods and equipment varies from area to area, that grader makes me wonder, just how big are you going?
Sledgehammer
Good for you. Another vote for running that grader. Maybe you should sell rides in that thing to help fund the project 😊

just Dave
The best expert on building a shop is a guy who just finished building one and has had a little while to second guess a few of there decisions so ask around and leave options when practical. Congratulations and best of luck to you and the big man helping you.

DT Fan
Sugarmaker had a thread over on the Orange board about building his new shop. Very detailed, wish I had the skill to everything they did along the way. https://www.allischalmers.com/forum/shop-talk_topic169958_page1.html?KW=shop This thread could keep people occupied for quite awhile! I have recently talked with the builder who did the new machine shed at the farm. Slowly getting going on a new 'shop' myself.
Owen Aaland
I built a 48' X 72' shop in 1984-85. The most often repeated advice I got was to plan for all the electrical outlets you would ever need and then double that amount. That is what I tried to do but I should have installed more.
Alan Dinan
I have two regrets on my shop. 1) I didn’t think about putting in a pipe for an overhead crane 2) I wish that I would have put a lean-to on it for the office and bathroom Mine is 50’ X 60’. I built it 60’ wide, with the intention of adding cold storage down the road. It will eventually be 60 X 130. ps It has in-floor heat, that is hooked up to an outdoor wood burning boiler.
