rodhergott
Dont get excited guys i also have a w4 m. 806 and 1066 cant steer it when cold. It seems to loosen up after running for half hour or so. Any thought on whats goin on. I think its ok in summertime but i use it in winter for pushing snow. It works perfectly for that except steering issue
Dirt_Floor_Poor
I can’t say that I know anything about those particularly. How old is the oil? What kind of oil is it? Is it contaminated with water?
rodhergott
I think oil ok and no sign of water but maybe i should drain and start over
hardtail
Rod are you starting to think that the "Belarus" might be the problem 🤔😁 If your only using it for snow clearing I would drain it and replace with a lighter weight of whatever fluid they recommended
rodhergott
Sounds like good advice. Poop wish it was summer rather than winter
vtfireman85
Had a similar issue with a 385, draining oil didn’t get it all out, I would purge the cylinders and lines themselves to start with.
rodhergott
Even more work. But thanks
Farmall Doctor
Change the Hydraulic filter and oil. Try to drain all of the oil as possible. Check the filter for water contamination.
Farmall Doctor
I have been working on Belarus tractors off and on my whole career, and prefer them over Zetors or deeres. Well, I’d rather a team of mules over a deere. Hehe. 1

stronger800
It’s very rare to see one of those orange things still in use around here. We had a local dealer that sold them back in the 80’s, so there were actually a bunch around at one point. My grandfather bought a 80hp one with a cab and loader to use in his garden and to clear his driveway with. He liked it for that. Think it only had 800 or 1200hr on it though, 20-25 yrs later. He sold it for what he had given for it, so in that aspect it was a good tractor for him. He kept his inside, so it was still orange. Most are a sort of stepped-on-dirty creamsicle-color

Might have been another dealer down towards Binghamton. Another in WNY by Franklinville? The late 1970's was when a lot of dealers picked up a side tractor line such as Deutz or SAME when prices exploded due to inflation.

stronger800
MacFaddens on rt20 in Sharon Springs. We had a semi local dealer that had deutz for a while, he brought a big 4x4 for us to demo for a few days. Dad chopped corn with it one weekend. Bought a well used 1066 instead. Still have the 1066. Don’t know of and Deutz still around the area.

O'Hara (JD) in Auburn and Monroe Tractor (JI Case) in Canandaigua sold SAME.
rodhergott
So when i took out the filter to clean it i got lucky. It was obvious i misread the oil level in the lense. The oil level was reallly really low. Added a bunch of oil and its steering great
IH884
A Belarus 1500 is actually a Ukranian built tractor from the Kharkiv tractor plant. The smaller Belarus tractors were actually made in Minsk and the very big ones were Kirovets made in St Petersburg. Google the Kharkiv tractor plant and you will see a version of the 1500 made today. I have seen a few 1500 and some of the newer 1770 model here in western Canada.
JaredT
I just looked the 1770 up on tractordata. That thing is a turbocharged 558 cu in engine and only puts out 185 hp, talk about inefficient.
