Dont get excited guys i also have a w4  m. 806 and 1066

cant steer it when cold.    It seems to loosen up after running for half hour or so.   Any thought on whats goin on.   I think its ok in summertime but i use it in winter for pushing snow.    It works perfectly for that except steering issue

Rod are you starting to think that the "Belarus" might be the problem 🤔😁

If your only using it for snow clearing I would drain it and replace with a lighter weight of whatever fluid they recommended

It’s very rare to see one of those orange things still in use around here. We had a local dealer that sold them back in the 80’s, so there were actually a bunch around at one point.  My grandfather bought a 80hp one with a cab and loader to use in his garden and to clear his driveway with.  He liked it for that.  Think it only had 800 or 1200hr on it though, 20-25 yrs later.  He sold it for what he had given for it, so in that aspect it was a good tractor for  him.

He kept his inside, so it was still orange. Most are a sort of stepped-on-dirty creamsicle-color

Oil recommended is 10w motor

That is ISO 32 oil

There are cold weather grades

But you may have another problem like a binding cylinder

Chevron Rando HDZ ISO 15 - Cold Weather Hydraulic Oil Fluid, 5 Gallon Pail

Frank Tuller?  North of Syracuse?  He ran hard selling those tractors after others gave up on them.  Might have been another dealer down towards Binghamton.  Another in WNY by Franklinville?  The late 1970's was when a lot of dealers picked up a side tractor line such as Deutz or SAME when prices exploded due to inflation.

MacFaddens on rt20 in Sharon Springs.
We had a semi local dealer that had deutz for a while, he brought a big 4x4 for us to demo for a few days. Dad chopped corn with it one weekend. Bought a well used 1066 instead.  Still have the 1066.  Don’t know of and Deutz still around the area.

OK.  Finger Lakes Tractor (IH) in Penn Yan and Harry L Smith (JD) in Ontario sold Deutz.  O'Hara (JD) in Auburn and Monroe Tractor (JI Case) in Canandaigua sold SAME.

A Belarus 1500 is actually a Ukranian built tractor from the Kharkiv tractor plant.   The smaller Belarus tractors were actually made in Minsk and the very big ones were Kirovets made in St Petersburg.    Google the Kharkiv tractor plant and you will see a version of the 1500 made today.  I have seen a few 1500 and some of the newer 1770 model here in western Canada.
