just Dave
11 hours ago, nomorejohndeere said: are td6 brakes manual or are they assisted in some way? While they are all mechanical they have a tremendous mechanical advantage. I recently did a clutch and brake overhaul on similar machine (150B). My brakes are very sensitive now. Before the overhaul many of the moving pin joints in the setup were rusted and bound making it very hard to push brakes enough to get response. Beware of after market reproduced brake bands, the pin holes are not at uniform distance from the friction surface and pin holes are not the right diameter on a set I bought from a popular supplier. I would have gone to the xtra work of relining my old bands if I had known what was coming. After several hours of Blacksmithing to get them close and Machining to get them perfect, I am very happy with the results. I did buy other parts from the same supplier some repop, some used, that all worked great.

Pbach
Relining my td6 brake bands wasn't that bad of a job and made for huge improvement.
