M&W Dual Hub Studs and Nuts

My Farmall 856 came with a set of M&W 9 bolt dual hubs. A few of the studs on the hub are bent and some have damaged threads. Is there a source to buy new studs and nuts for these hubs? Or do I just need to drive one out and search automotive and truck stud books to find new ones by size?

I have tried the Google machine to no avail.

Pics would help but you can try doorman fastener products or remove the studs and use tapered head bolts not sure what your wheel will accept

I purchased some DMI hubs that needed help for my 1206 this spring. I drilled out each of the holes and tapped them 7/8-14. I ordered threaded inserts (Zoro# G4309858) and the installation tool (Zoro# G4305895). These inserts are internally threaded for 5/8-18. I ordered my studs as well as jam nuts from Schoup. Best prices I could find as of spring. Shoup also has press in studs. IMG_20221023_133122817.thumb.jpg.2a03c6d9a2acaba5dbee1a2cc9351595.jpg

Schoup was around $2 each in spring if I recall. Pa paid $18 each at the implement for studs when he replaced some stripped ones on one of his sets. He was ticked when I showed him what I paid. There is something to be said for doing business local. I'm all for it. But, I ordered studs for both the hubs and spacers along with nuts and a few extra to keep on hand if something gets damaged. There was just too much difference in cost for me at the time. If I would need one or two, I couldn't pay the difference for the shipping and would run to the implement too. It worked out best for me because I was redoing the whole set. I just thought I'd share so you could decide if you wanted to replace a few or redo the whole set. I will say. It was nice to have all new hardware and not worry about sorting nuts with iffy threads to put on studs with crumby threads etc.

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping someone was still supporting the M&W products and I could just order some. Guess I'll just pound one out when I get home from deployment and find new ones from the dimensions.

I agree Dzldenny, starting with all new ones would be the way to go. They are all a little iffy. Especially the right side after I got too close to a guard rail on the highway once. Your internal thread conversion is probably easier to swap studs when needed

I will look into this Schoup place. Otherwise I have an old NAPA catalog somewhere for studs and nuts.

Had to insert some holes in the DMI hubs on my 10 some years back. Four in one and I don't remember on the other. Used Jergenserts, not my favorite insert but what I could get. Drilled them smaller than the instructions called for, just big enough for them to screw in. The hubs JUST fit on my little drill press. Seems like I used some red Loctite too. Anyway, several years later, and the duals never come off, no problems encountered.

Thanks for your support! Just a few months to go.

That's a good selection on the Shoup Parts website. I'll get one drove out when I get home and measure. If the knurl is worn out in the hole I will probably drill out and do inserts. Gives me a backup option.

Thanks everyone!
