Farm Renovations

The Government building I oversaw the construction of and then worked in for over 15 years had pneumatics for hvac.  What a disaster!  After about 10 years all the actuators for the chilled water controls started to corrode and there were no replacements available.    Used the SWAG method to manually position the chilled water valves to obtain a comfortable temperature.   A lot of what I see you doing is what is being done here in the South in the poultry houses.  They are every where around here.  There are four large houses just over a half a mile up the road from us.  When I went through flight school for the Army here in the mid 70's our training maps had to have all the chicken houses plotted and a 1 kilometer circle drawn around them.  It was forbidden to fly within 1 kilometer of them.  If you flew closer than that to the chicken house the chickens would panic and run to one side and smother each other.   During the tactics phase we always flew less than 500 feet and had to know where we were on the map.  I was especially good at low level map reading.  I got the nickname of "NDB Barker".  Lot's of stories.

Yup.  I learned to hover in the Mattel Messerschmidt.  I took instruments in the 2B24 simulator and UH-1s.  Then transitioned to UH-1s, don't ask, before going through tactics/nights in UH-1s.  The good old days!  Got an AH-1G transition right after flight school, then the AH-1 TOW course before going to Germany in January 1977.  I was assigned to the 11th ACR at Fulda.  Anyone ever heard of the Fulda Gap?  Spent three years in the 11TH on the border, flew UH-1s, OH-58As and AH-1S.  I was a Tri-Border pilot by the time it was all over.  Still have my Border maps.

I would guess that when you hire employees who are less than 3 you are going to have some breakage. I might have some spare jars for a VX100DG, take a couple measurements, i can compare.
also, I have quonset hut envy😂

Here’s some more.

got antennas for security cameras mounted, nothing crazy just some stainless clamps,

they will shoot to my house and we can monitor traffic (feed, gas, fuel, nosey neighbors lol) from home or phone. Again, just to keep abreast of what’s going on, not to hawk it.

got outdoor panel, disconnect, and transfer switch mounted, and all conduits measured to get wire for them.

drove ground rod in with my post driver.
It’s a 3” sch40 black pipe with a chunk of round stock welded in the end. Just the weight alone will push it in dang near. As dry as it is I was happy with the 3 minute install on a 10’ rod.

got one building of waterers and water line out, ran outta trailer so will need to wait for next one.

if homo depot had paint the tanks woulda gotten a makeover but that must be on a ship right now because there wasn’t a gallon of anything besides safety pink on the shelf.

I coulda used that but people already are saying I’m nuts lol

Seeing that big wire makes my hands ache a little. That's a nice looking operation you have there and congratulations on the improvements. There is a place called UP State Breaker in NY that has some very good prices on salvaged heavy electric components if you  still need anything. Good luck

Is this a secret project?… looks covert.

the feed being unloaded into dump trailer was a sunday night around 230 in the morning lol.

and the electrician on the job sucks so lights aren’t there yet. got closer last night—13 exhaust and tunnel fans wired 4 heaters and around 24-30 lights. i’m not sure.

got controller wired in somehow and it actually works.

do to covid or whatever reasoning there is for a wire shortage, My OCD will have to take a backseat because the wires going to fans are any and all colors.
