Fan belt

Unscrewing the flange off the threads isn’t going to gain you anything.... if you are using a factory belt they are a mother to get on there...(unless you have the sliding idler). The new belt will be at the bottom of the groove; just screw the pulley against it plus a little more to give it a bit of tension. Correct, they are right hand thread. If using hammer and punch use plenty of penetrating oil, you can break the pulley if you hit it too hard trying to turn it. Not much good for the water pump bearings either.
