Correct police fast hitch question

I'm working on disassembly on the 240U and I noticed that the fast hitch linkage for the teledepth control appears to be copper tubing. If this is correct I don't want to damage it. I've never really been around that style control .

Sorry @ny bill o I could have dropped these lights off last week

What is teledepth because our 240 doesn’t have that.  Has the hitch though.

This might not be teledepth because it doesn't have the gauge by the dash showing the hitch height. I'm referring to the linkages that tell the hitch to raise or lower depending on it's position compared to the control position

to coin a phrase, "nice headlights!" followed by a slap. Oh wait.

The copper tubing looks like it was grafted into the system. Actually, I doubt that very many Tel a Depth are still working. The one on my 560 gas worked so annoyingly that I disconnected it and run the drawbar off a remote. Personally, I wouldn't call it much of a loss if it got destroyed.

Those lights would sure look good on my 460HU.

I had an F340 briefly, sold it to someone who parts them out. I became aware I could have sold The tin and scrapped the tractor for more than double what i sold it for.

You have the early teledeph system. Same as early 60 series. The one on the brothers 240 is the later style. All of ours have worked over the years. 230,240, and 460.

My 460 has the same “copper” tube connecting the teledepth to the hydraulic block

that's what it looks like to me as well, hardware store union and the big gentle curve in the tubing don't look original. Ruby Red has a nice 1 owner  240u . I talked to him a few weeks ago, His computer was giving him trouble but he does lerk here

340u and 240u are not the same length for the low hanging sheet metal. I may have some. I will check

Ours doesn't have any of that.

I have a bareback 240u😲 that really throws a wrench into the "IH didn't bring a 3 pth out soon enough" debate

. even I am surprised but there actually is a lot of *00,*50 *60...... etc that were sold bareback

We used this as a 3 point for most of its life.   Pretty sure you could get a factory 3-point on the 240.  JD’s first 3 point was in the 40 which came out in 54’.  The Waterloo models didn’t get the 3-point until 56’.  My point is IH wasn’t to far behind if at all offering the 3-point compared to JD.  If anything were IH fell behind is offering offering other features like live PTO and direction reverser.  Something those obsolete POS 2 cylinders had on the 420/430.

I have a 240U with the cable type Tel-A-Depth.  As far as I know it is as it came from the factory.  Mine also is copper tube but under the bracket by the clutch pedal there is a transition to rubber hose and the bend up to the valve is hose.

This is on a 350 high utility. It was hard rubber tubing and flexible metal tubing ( like a tach cable) .F4CDCA42-3DDC-4EA0-A4A1-7613558895F1.thumb.jpeg.d454e1e562ebe6964ebe8f157cc26570.jpeg

His movies made you think. Plenty of double and triple meanings. Just depended on the perspective. Something that isn't part of movies anymore. Today's movies only require a second grade education.

You must be good at playing charades given your depiction of the great director, who ALWAYS made a cameo appearance in his movies.

Do you remember him crossing the street in Psycho?

Or "Rear Window" with the dozen story lines and how your mind can convince you of anything you want to believe.

here's a pic of Carl's . I have seen it before but cannot describe it like he could. It is not like the typical IH adapter
