Farmall 1456 Custom Cab Interior Questions

Recommended Posts

Thank you! I appreciate the response. How about for the cab bushings? I’m guessing I will just need to find something similar to factory but if there’s any that are recommended I would rather go that route

These are pictures of the IH Diamond Cab that my brother and I just refurbished for my 1456.  The cab foam upholstery kit and the door seal kits were from Fehr Cab.  Now, the only downside is that their upholstery kit is for a 66 series Diamond Cab, and not a 26/56 series Diamond Cab.  There are subtle differences which will require some cutting and trimming.  If you order from them, be sure to tell them it's for a 56 series, and they'll include some additional foam that you can cut and shape to fit the areas the 66 series kit doesn't normally cover.

As for the rubber ISO mount bushings, I never found a source for replacements.  We ended up reusing my old ones, they were still in decent shape.

About 20 years ago I got a set of cab bushings for my 1066 diamond cab from the local Navistar dealer. They were nla from cih. I took the old ones to the truck dealer and asked if they had anything similar. Turs out it was the same as a truck cab mount they had on the shelf!

Sorry, I don't have the part number anymore.

Thx-Ace

Fehr made me these custom covers for the batteries and should still have the pattern on-hand if interested.

Nice!  I will have to check on one of those!  What did you do for boots around the pedals?

I can tell you that on mine, we used the pedal boots that Fehr offers for the 66 series.  We just didn't use the boot retainer plates for a 66 series (even though I did find a NOS set)

i want in too.  I’m betting I have The only interior marker lights and 1970’s wood paneling.

Man, your 1466 reminds me so much of one I used to see South of Norfolk, NE ever so often.  Same setup, 1466, Diamond cab, Firestone Field & Road rear tires (20.8-38's on the one I remember), and factory IH muffler.
