Anyone know the story on the semi load of old IH tractors wrecked in OH?????

Recommended Posts

I only swiped these 3 pics from the facebook post and it wasn't on the IH page, a friend had commented on it so that I'd seen it. It looks terrible!! Sure hope the driver and anyone else involved is alright. The towing/recovery company is out of the Springfield/Urbana area in Ohio. Anyone have any further info? Thanks!

In my opinion ( means nothing) but if all of those were on one trailer he had to be overweight.

All good until  you have to swerve or stop really fast for some unforeseen reason .

must have been a heck of a bad wreck to do that much damage.

Shouldn't have been overweight with those three tractors.

Almost looks like the 756 that was posted in the RU pic thread?

Hope not.

Hate to see it.

I literally just saw that yesterday and those tractors last week.    😳😳.  Praying for those involved.

It makes me sick to my stomach because that could have been any of us going home yesterday/today.

Those were the three I just put together but had not posted. 756 german engine is telltale. White seat and Goodyear tires on the 1256. Tires on the 1026.

I’m no trucker but it doesn’t look over weight to me . It’s heartbreaking either way.

Should be able to have 44,000 to 48,000 or more for load on most rigs. With the split axle and the older tractor, he might be legal at 50,000 +.

what do those tractors run? 10 to 12,000?  I don’t see any weights. So he should have been less than 36,000.

Should not have been more than 60,000# or close. Rig capable of 80,000#.  Also a long stable rig. Just my opinion. We hauled 3 back to PA Saturday and the idiots in cars and semi rigs were all over the the road. One rig in the middle lane swerved into our lane then went right over into the other lane. too much texting and cellphones!

We run around pulling tractors quite a bit.  I tell people all the time the most dangerous part of tractor pulling is hauling to and from the pulls.  We haul 2 tractors in a enclosed 53’ ft van pulled with one of the farm semis.  Plenty of overkill built in for a safety factor.  The idiots driving cars and pickups are just plain scary.

Full disclaimer: not discriminating against one group or the other, just my observations.

On that note, on the way to RPRU and on the way home down 75 I hauled a 6x12' landscape trailer with 2 cub Cadets and a #1 trailer behind a 1500 Silverado.   Plenty of truck for the load and trailer for the load but I only tow at 65-68 MPH in the right lane.   I stay out of the way and give plenty of room.  That being said I had multiple semis that ran right up to my back end, pass me like I was sitting still, and cut me off to just keep trucking.

People just need to slow down.
