AngrySailor
They fired our crazy second cook, just sent him off by tug boat on the fly. Guy was nuts, got into a knife fight with the previous chief cook a while back, pissed everyone off with stupid crap, expected us officers to clean his mouldy fridge and grease hood vents. Bish, my job is to make sure the fridge is cold, not clean it. He was going to get fired anyways as there were formal complaints filed but he got loaded drunk last night and was drinking from the bottle with his imaginary friend here out in the open. Tunes blasting, dancing, big sheiit show. Someone tipped the captain off and he’s GONZO. Reamadirtchute Harvey!🤣 absolute weirdo...

Should pass by later today heading east. Near Sarnia/port Huron rn. We’re heading down east for the rest of my time here. Got some Halifax runs, Quebec, PEI and cape breton. Think a Newfoundland run or two also. Of course we’re going to PEI as far as possible from my house so no short visit home...

Just had pops pack up the Hilborn and parts/goodies to take to it’s new home today actually. I got about two more weeks on ship then back at things. Hopefully some good weather left. Won’t be much but might get a good few weeks in. cleaning house, sold this tilton clutch to a friend for his supercharged ‘78 corvette, anyone need brand new diamond racing pistons? 4.600” bore 1.395” CH, 11.x:1 compression depending on chamber and stroke/deck height of build.

Yeah they got the EFI Hilborn manifolds for a while now, there’s also the Holley sniper which is a dominator based throttle body deal. Pretty slick. They even make a mechanical injection look alike for the blower hats too. some crazy news from real close to home... AngrySailor
We were slated to go on strike tomorrow at 10am, just got the word they’ve reached a tentative deal so we keep sailing. I’m scheduled to sign off in about a week, see what excuses they come up with for not having a relief... Pops making a run back to Ontario to pick up another load of moving stuff, got the Ford Jubilee that was bought brand new for the family farm back in ‘53 last trip, think there’s a 1940 9N left and that all the tractors shipped east. Picking up that bad azz supercharger from buddy this week while he’s there too. Gonna be busy when I finally get off this tub. Only had two weeks off since may...

AngrySailor
No reply from the company about my relief. Going to email them again maybe tomorrow (Friday) and cc the union in the email see if that lights a fire under them. Chief decided we’re on 6&6 watch now so they can get some “big jobs done” 🙄 2nd is on day work and says to me “now when the new oil coolers arrive we can do all three together before you go”. Uhhh I already cleaned up three pages of overdue PM’s, been on a boat since may with 11 days off I think I’m kinda done buddy. He says to me “yeah but we don’t know who’s coming to relieve you so I’d like to get them done now” buddy, if the guy coming to relieve me can’t do them then he’s not suitable for the position and that’s not my problem. Fug me big company/union politics makes for a lot of dead weight on these ships.
