Changed the hydraulic roller springs out for slightly more spring pressure cuz it’s a small solid roller build. Went from 195lbs on the seat to 236lbs and 450 open to 545 lbs. 4 Quote

AngrySailor Posted April 28 Author Posted April 28 Cam timing checked, she’s almost done, putting the oil pan on next then set up the valve train and intake manifold and send her down the dusty trail. 5 Quote
AngrySailor Posted April 28 Author Posted April 28 Sure glad I checked that cam timing. I hate these multiple keyway timing sets, the timing marks don’t actually line up perfectly when you’re not on the “straight up” key… I’ve got this cam retarded 3* for 106 ICL. When I checked it it was at 94*, one tooth advanced. That would have bent every exhaust valve… spent 5 hours today ripping my shop apart looking for the windage tray for the rear sump oil pan… pops walked in and looked for 2 mins asked “is this it?” As he’s holding the part… fug. Pan gasket and the bottom end is done. 8 Quote

It probably doesn’t make much power, some of the blowers probably don’t even have rotors in the cases. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are small diameter tubes from the carbs down to the engine. Either way throttle response must suck. I think world/BMP made a block that you could build 1000 cubic inches in, it had no oil filter integral to the block and an extra starter mount where the oil filter base would have been. You could run two starters to get it going. If you watch big class drag racing you’ll see they have a detachable starter that drives the engine by turning the blower. Those are 48v aircraft turbine starter motors… 4 Quote
