Missouri Mule Posted June 4, 2022 Share Posted June 4, 2022 First year planting E3 enlist soybeans. Any recomendations on spray? Mainly controlling crab grass, and light broadleafs. I would like something with some residual if possible. Beans are post at 4" tall and some grass and weeds are just starting to surface here and there. Roundup, liberty, enlist. Lots of reading to be had but one can just get deeper in. Quart of roundup used to be thrown in because it was cheap. Thinking the neighbor is using a concoction of roundup, enlist, and Ams. acem Posted June 4, 2022 Share Posted June 4, 2022 Roundup ain't cheap this year. If you happen to have drift from normal 24D it won't kill them... Read between the lines. Another neighbor did some major damage to his sprayer mixing enlist. it ruined his nozzles. I am thinking he mixed the two too fast. He said now he let's one adgitate a while then adds the other. Michigan No Till Posted June 4, 2022 Share Posted June 4, 2022 Doing a jar test with all your tank mix enlist partners to see if it will turn into cottage cheese will give you peace of mind. Your water quality has major effects on herbicide efficiency, that is often overlooked. Liberty is a top killer as glyphosate will kill roots and top growth, had grasses regrow late season here in past seasons with liberty. If your doing your own consider a two pass game plan glyphosate, 1.5 quarts, and 17# AMS/100 gallon of water. Glyphosate still is a great herbicide and will get all grasses and most small seed broadleaf weeds. Then come back with the enlist to clean up any rouge weeds that are resistant. Dual II Magnum works real well as a post residual on grass and small seed broadleaf weeds that show up later! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

There are many chemical interactions besides cottage cheese but I've made that too. Liberty and Roundup, command and Roundup, stam and insecticides (must be weeks apart), dicamba and Roundup (increases volatility), grass and broadleaf herbicides. This will be a first for liquid AMS for me. I tend to just stick with what I know. Always a pita but I mix dry and always went with like 15-17 lbs. How does one achieve that with liquid and isn't it alot more pricey? In my case it's what he had, so take it or leave it. since he gave me a good price on everything else I went all in. Liquid AMS is a little more expensive than dry. We used a lot more AMS when we sprayed Liberty, so we used dry to keep the cost down. Roundup doesn’t require nearly as high of a rate, so the cost increase isn’t that much. The liquid is much easier to load as opposed to going through pallet after pallet of bags.
