7140 mfd front wheel seal?

Recommended Posts

The dealer sold me a front wheel seal kit for my 7140 and it has a spacer that goes under the bearing race closest to the hub seal. Is this so the seal rides in a different spot. I have no dust shield so I'm not  maching the hub. Do I subtract the spacer thickness approximately from the shims when setting the rolling torque?

Thanks

The bearing spacer is not required in the 71XX, 72XX or 89XX series Magnums.

I've never installed one in 15 years, usually on rolling torque if I didn't mess with the bearings I can just reinstall the same shim pack.

It's good practice to always check and adjust the rolling torque before installing a new seal.
