So is there a map?

and part of what states have as little of these as possible?

salt was salt but this new %^$&^%  have actually had conversations with people that, put new parts back in the box after inspection.and use the old or"used" once shipped. Wipers dont pass after 1000 wipes,.etc

did new spring bolts in feb and literally 10 miles 1x on wet road, look like they are 10 yrs. Many other bolts ($6-30 ea if you can get them NLA) suddenly the exposed heads look like rasins.

I think the high deserts of new Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada are nice but they do have  snakes. Colorado used to be nice. Never been to Wyoming or much of Montana. If you get above 9000 ft in the desert it's really nice during the summer and so dry there's not much snow.

If you are looking for snakes and bugs, visit a swamp in the state just south east of Texas  that has Norleans.  in the past 50 years gators have made a major come back. Good sized jon-boat and don't go for a swim!

I think, if you're far enough South for salt to not be a problem, bugs and snakes are going to be! Snakes are basically a non-issue around here. Bugs, not bad either really. The crap they put on the roads? That is a problem!

Not sure what the ideal trade-off would be. Less winter would be great, as I age especially! Not to crazy about higher summer temps/humidity. Poisonous snakes and fire-ants are pretty low on my list too.

Someplace where the wind blew a little less could be enticing.

I guess since the farm is here, I'll be sticking around for better or worse.

Snakes  are not too bad unless some idiot releases some non-native variety into the wild.  And unless they get inside someplace they tend to freeze to death come December.  There are rattlesnakes but none locally.   Bugs seem to be in a cycle where they have been worse as of late.  Prolonged dry weather usually thins them out quite a bit.  Salt is bad around here.  Finger Lakes region of NY.

Well I have a tenant who moved in down the road back in December.  He stops to pay rent with his kids earlier this month.  Bugs are not his friend.  Said he needed bug spray for him and the kids before they would get out of their suv and see the animals so took a rain check.  Bugs aren't bad in early May.  I guess bugs are never bad in the city where they came from.  Good tenants though just lost in nature.

As for salt years ago I put some 8.1 Allison emblems on my truck.  Imports and they lasted a month or 2 before they looked like poo from salt and weather.  I removed and trashed them.

Got a snake with the stihl trimmer the other day.  Scared me but I won.

Salt is ridiculous here. Where's all the "green" outrage over it? Bugs like horseflies and mosquitoes come and go, pretty bad where it's damp. Our soil is full of rocks too. The potholes are crazy. What on earth do I live here for?

I read once told there's a nice island somewhere in the Pacific with no mosquitos. I'll take salt and snakes, if you could promise me no bugs!
