To the Craigslist sellers.......... It's a corn stalk not a stock. And it's a hay bale not a bail.

I dated a city girl who called them hay balls.

"Gone thru", a tunnel

"Gone thru", a car wash

"Gone thru", the wall of my house

"Gone thru", a whole s**tpot of my money, with NO results

Or through. But hey, who's being picky?

What agitates me (and I see it a lot here) is when something "needs painted" or "needs fixed". It's like nails on a chalkboard.

An item "needs fixing" or "needs to be fixed". Your elementary school teachers are rolling in their graves. And if they're not dead yet, don't let them see your terrible grammar. They'll shoot themselves; their lives are a sham.

Years ago when I was doing work for some defense contractors I somehow got shipped off to DC to listen to a bunch of Georgetown lawyers explain why I should always use terms like "could" or "can" and NEVER use terms like "would" or "will". The session had absolutely nothing to do with what I was doing, but it was interesting and gave some insight into legal speak. I still think about that sometimes when dealing with legal stuff.

I work with lawyers all day long. Getting things accomplished is SOO effing hard, on account of their commitment issues.

Ok, makes sense now. Familiar with the pronunciation, not the spelling!

A couple of my pets:

Weather guy or babe saying "normal" instead of "average".  In the midwest, and I'm sure many other places, normal is not average, and average is not normal.

"reach out"  -  we used to call, or get in contact, or write, but now we just reach out.  I can picture George Carlin doing a bit on that.

Have a young man in fire dept that likes to "reach out by crafting an email" 1st time I heard him say this I wasn't sure if I should laugh or cry.

...if he has manicured   facial hair...designer sunglasses...knows a lot about nothing....and wears to work, pants that look like pyjama pants....once you would have laughed...but the reality is that you really have to 'metaphorically ", cry......because it is my observation that those ''males'' are certainly not about to become the salvation of mankind.....

Farm Show magazine IS the print equivalent of yt.com

I had been there a long time and I thought they were just like anyone else, but after the last week and a half watching them gang-bang this guy because he was building an H to burn kerosene, just to run once in a while; he was sticking to his guns and they just kept flogging him.  If, somehow, this topic could be transplanted over there, with all those grammar school drop-outs, it would be roundly criticized, called the “English Police”, or simply taken as a personal affront. Really disappointed in that crew this time.

A guy told me one time that his neighbour (USA = neighbor- both are correct spellings) bought a new truck- a 10 wheeler- to pull his 48' semi trailer. "Not sure what make it was but I think it was a KENMORE".  My  reply was "I bet the motor sounded like a washing machine".

Eva and Eddie Albert were a good match. All the Gabor sisters were hot but she was the most likeable.

This is my real rant for a Friday.

A FISHER is a 4 legged animal that lives deep in the bush/forest/woods and is valuable for its fur and thus to the trapping industry (what's left of it) in Canada. So I was amazed to read last week of 3 fishers drowning off the coast of Newfoundland when their boat capsized in stormy weather.  How these critters managed to captain a fishing vessel and end up at sea is beyond me.

The words "Fisherman" or "Fishermen" are apparently no longer in the dictionary.

BUT, I'll believe it when I see actual proof of it, AND I WILL rejoice in that fact.
