Modern hydraulic couplers on 806?

Recommended Posts

During planting I developed some leaks under the seat on my 806, so I’ve got to address those before hay. I was thinking while I was working on it, can I upgrade the couplers? Is there something out there like the newer tractors that simply push in and pull out? Yes the old pioneer couplers are reliable but they are a bit more messy and clumsy.

I believe they still do. You can get aluminum clamp together ones or  you can get ones that are like a plastic block that bolts together, either way they hold the pioneer couplers and you just bolt them to a bracket and then they are push in/pull out, easy and cheap.

Here are two pictures I just found quick on my phone of what I have done on the back of our small fords. In the one picture where the hoses are hanging down behind the axle, I did not bolt the holder up to the top cover yet, you can see the bolt sticking out of the top cover where it should go. That one is the super common economy clamp together style. And the other tractor that has two sets of outlets, that’s another “block” style I call that. 5FCF74C5-3A5C-4A78-B2B8-F6C0F79CE026.thumb.png.1eb782a99e04e04ed77cbfd5449e425d.png

If you have the two-piece aluminum breakaway holders for your original Pioneer couplers, CaseIH p/n A177478 will work as a new style push/pull coupler, and will fit perfectly in your original breakaway clamps.  I put these on a lot of my tractors, for one-handed coupling of hydraulic hoses.

I did the same thing, I had some from hy cap and some from pioneer, the hy cap was a little shorter than the pioneer. When i priced them thru my local pioneer dealer they had a 6 to 8 week wait and where 10 15 dollars higher then to go to the Deere dealer which had them on in stock

Here's the couplers I was talking about, on the back of my 1026 Hydro.  Fit perfectly in the original IH holders, and are one-handed push/pull

We have that setup on a couple tractors and I like it’s breakaway capability. But I really never liked how it hooked up
