2004 F250 V-10 Gasoline low fuel pressure

My 2004 F250 has started running poorly, it will barely move under its own power.  I limped it to a local mechanic who diagnosed a bad fuel pump.  He replaced the fuel only to still have low fuel pressure.  A second replacement pump was installed on the chance that the first one was defective.  I have not been able to locate a “fuel pump driver module” on this particular truck.

Does anybody have any suggestions?  Thank you!

There may be a fuel pressure regulator on the engine, or frame rail below the cab. I don't know for sure but have seen that in the past.

Ford typically installed these into the fuel rail on the engines themselves but I don't know about the V-10 as never worked on one myself.

Silly question, is there a filter between the pump and the engine?

There IS a filter between the fuel pump and the engine.  That was the first thing that was changed.

Further testing shows 35psi idle & 40psi WOT between the fuel pump and the fuel filter, but only 23-25psi at the fuel rail.  I have already decided that it is getting a new fuel pressure regulator tomorrow.  It is raining here now, otherwise it would already be installed.

 Thank you!!

Not much on fords anymore but the older ones had 2 pumps one in tank and one on frame rail. Don’t know if newer ones continued that. So if you had dual tanks you had 3 pumps.

Another thought, again not a ford guy here but GM have a ground jumper near the trailer hitch, it is common for this to fail, or get unhooked when removing a box etc, fuel pump wont run without it.

That one is a 2 valve, yes?

Yes, it is a 2 Valve.  The fuel pump runs and makes good pressure, but there is a restriction between the fuel filter and the fuel rail.  That is why the fuel pressure regulator is getting checked out tomorrow, it is between the fuel filter and the fuel rail.
