Mike56073
I remember reading a long time ago where someone had installed a coolant recovery tank on a 88 series tractor. I’ve been searching for that thread with no luck. Does anyone remember this? I thought the original poster had used a Dorman brand tank, I was hoping to get a part number. Thanks. Mike56073
Bingo! Thanks 66! I would think the radiator cap should be changed as well to a style that flows both ways?

midnightman
Thanks for bringing this back up. Reminder for something else I should get done. Should put one on my 5088 as I seem to have to top the rad up a couple times a year, but I’m pretty sure it’s not leaking anywhere

I just learned this trick myself last night.
acem
I can't get the above image to work as a link on my androidtablet. Here's a conventional link. https://www.redpowermagazine.com/forums/topic/142445-5x88-catch-tank-for-coolantpuke-tank/
ihrondiesel
I’ve used the coolant recovery tank from a boxcar Magnum to do this.
IHC5488
I assume the hose to the catch can just replaces the existing hose that runs down the side of the airbox?

acem
We're you able to leave the either installed mounting the recovery tank in this location?
66 Series Farmer
Decided to leave it on the left side and just reused the overflow hose already on it. Pretty slick

That’s kinda why I wanted it there, and just a short hose to the filler neck. The way I fabbed the bracket I can just pop it out of the way by removing one thumbscrew for servicing

midnightman
Didn’t actually try it. Would be tight. That’s why I made the bracket with a 1 thumbscrew to take out. 30 seconds and no tools to pop it out of the way

I made sure it slides past without issue.
