oleman
The tank in the Nissan Versa holds 12 gallons and goes 360 miles between fill ups in around town driving. I keep the real vehicles parked unless I have a real use for them!! I was going to put a windmill in the back yard to recharge the batteries in the electric vehicle BUT the home owners association vetoed my tower. My largest concern is the availability of fuel, what then?
int 504
I remember when it was physically impossible to put $3 worth in a VW Beetle. Making $4/hr welding in a factory.

My favorite fuel stop in Hastings Nebraska, used to be open 24 hours, now its 5am to 8pm. Probably fine for the normal people, but doesn’t work for us who operate on weird hours. Everywhere you go, there’s signs begging for bodies. You don’t need to know anything, just show up when scheduled. How are the unemployed paying for fuel? The unemployment rate is the lowest it's been in 20 years. My theory is with everybody hiring all the people that worked in gas stations, restaurants, fast food joints, etc have so many more options now. So they took $20+/hr factory jobs instead of the low paying jobs they had. But that's just my theory.

I'm not saying that someone is lying but I believe they only capture people that say they are looking for work. Of course this doesn't mention the young and healthy that just work part time that should work full time.
ihrondiesel
I know a guy n his 70’s. He called my BIL this winter asking if he could say he applied for a job with him so he could keep getting his unemployment check. Had no intention of working. With people like him gaming the system, I don’t believe any employment numbers I see.

Now Hobbyfarm is correct when he said that if you're not looking for work and not drawing unemployment then I don't think you are counted. For instance my wife stays home with the kids, but she doesn't get counted as unemployed.

My point was that dishonest people help to skew the results of any poll.
stronger800
My daughter completed her first year of college, yesterday. Last final was Monday at 6pm. I picked her up, 450 miles away yesterday, and she had two part time job interviews set up for today. (Local chain book store, and a ice cream/fast food joint). Both had help wanted positions posted, but are only interested in hiring full timers, or minimal hour (<10/wk) workers. She’d like to work 20-25hr during the week, as she already has a 12-20hr a week weekend job secured. She filled out a few more applications tonight online and is going to stop in at the places tomorrow. The one ice cream/fast food place she applied has been operating reduced hours since they are short on help, yet they wouldn’t hire part time. I don’t get it. mmi
like the reported inflation, that chart is skewed in some form. to many help wanted out there. And certainly many took jobs once the idiocy eased slightly. but they are low wage and short or bad hours. media here, reports AVG wage as $31 hr not, maybe starter elites? Many health care are quitting from low pay long late hours mandate OT. Need to go to dentist,NOW ,200+ messages in the box,had to call 3x. Girl had to keep asking an adult for answers,This is the "NEW" rules 3 weeks for 1 st apt,(umm lookie lew ONLY, intern )then it will require 2-5 more referral and consultations. co pay $$$ etc. If they cant sell me on $3K of work, the "surgeon"s first opening (today) is late july, provided the referral and MD clearances ,were sent today. Had to pencil both. She said welcome to find anyone else if not also, full up and likely still end up back there in AUGUST ,or later. If swelling or fever call 911 or go to er.... !!!! really >>>> GD ;s' employer, defense cont ,dont have a war YET, so layed off,80% then mysteriously had a ruin all fire, then folded the next day.made off with the gold parachute. We are a dollar cheaper than Denver at the pipeline. Makes no sense. Think someone is messing with us🙄
Lazy WP
It’s awful hard to find anything for under $5.00. Nothing you can get a big truck into. Place I fueled on Wednesday, for $4.56, is now 5.02. Gas is around $3.80.
