B.B.
Anyone have any literature they could post on the introduction of the 1566? I’m curious to see how IH marketed it compared to the 10-1466. I think Ken Updike posted a picture of a prototype 1556 at one point but it may have just been a model? Here’s a picture of my 15 just because I know y’all like pictures lol

Dirt_Floor_Poor
I would love to farm the dirt where a 1566 can pull an 8 bottom plow 5 mph.

I was thinking that myself. Some sandy creek bottom ground, maybe, where I farmed, about 100 miles north of you, but there wasn't much of that.

Big Bud guy
Nice cover scans but can someone please post what’s actually inside the brochures, the actual meat. Don’t matter what brand I’m always curious how they slanted or marketed their products even when they have short comings after the fact.

I have a lot of dirt like that, if i live long enough in the perfect storm bean yields could hit 40 on it.

I think we have a scanner but I'm not allowed in the office . Scanners, computers, printers etc seem to lock up when I'm around and asking my wife while she's getting ready for work and I'm home because of rain is definitely out 🙂 2
Farmall1066
My dad has pulled 7 18’s with his 1566 before, and we aren’t very heavy ground, I’m not sure if another bottom would have been easy for it?! The way it’s setup now it could probably pull a 10 bottom, but would need water injection to keep it cool!! 2

I don’t use a scanner when I post pics of literature. I take photos with my smart phone, crop them and then post.

So a 8-16 plow is 128in of cut compared to a 7-18 at 126in of cut.
jass1660
Dad used to pull 7-16’s with the 1206 then went to 6-18’s.
acem
The 1566/1586 were well liked in the delta.
B.B.
Thanks for the replies! I've wanted to see the actual literature for these tractors for some time! I have literature for 86 series but nothing for the
Mr. Plow
Farmington Implement has a video clip on introduction of 1566/68 on one of the last 2 years videos.....cool piece, with a bunch of plowing.......one clip has film reversed for an odd looking on land hitch left handed 720 plow! Mine haven’t seen the light of day in decades. But I’m looking at this Black Stripe 1566 picture. It is a faked 1566. Photoshopped. The back wheel centers do not look correct do they? Aren’t 1566 wheel centers more deep dished? And notice the louvered radiator side panels. By the time the Black Stripe tractors came out, those louver slot panels were long gone. My now ex 1976 Black Stripe 1466 didn’t have those louvered side panels. Even my now ex 1975 1066 didn’t have them. Also notice B.B.’s picture of his Black Stripe 1566 above? Deep dish wheel centers an no louver slots in the radiator side panels.

That’s 436 cubes, I’ll put $100,000 on that if anyone wants to come open it up and measure, it’s here! I don’t know when it will be out again? Used that same picture in the 1979 brochure as they did in the early 80s. All they did was change the white part of the cab, to red

It would be a lot cheaper to edit a photo than to start from scratch again.
