A friend is looking to buy a dodge  challenger helcat jailbreak. He claims it will have over 800 hp!

Horse power alone won't get you a good time on a road course the car needs to handle well

A Hellcat Challenger ran 7.51 vs 7.16 for the ZL-1

The Camaro is considerably lighter than the Challenger and is very competitive in the 1/4 mile.

The Hellcat was 1/2 second faster around the Virginia International Raceway than a 6 cylinder Camaro😮

At 160+ mph the wing will help the performance but it still looks like a handful on that excellent high speed track

Getting the last tenth of a second out of a car is what separates the stars from the also rans

It's all done on the edge so its going to be a handful

That video made me move around in my chair a little.  Very impressive.

From what I understand, GM has had to restrain the Camaros to keep them from making the Vette look overpriced.

And the driver is just as important. Clarkson did the 'Ring in just under 10:00 in a supercharged Jag. Sabina Schmitz did it in 10:05 in a diesel Transit van.

I got the same impression, mainly from all the tire squeal.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nürburgring#Fuchsröhre_("Fox_Hole")

The best part about this description of the course, is the picture of the Ford Fiesta,  Mr. Snerdly would be so proud.

But, it is a little known fact that the all time record, was set by a Domino's Pizza delivery driver, showing that he could deliver your pizza in "Thirty Minutes or Less".

Was at Nürburgring Racetrack as a spectator in 1972 for Formula One race on a Sunday afternoon. Wow, that's 50 years ago when I was stationed in Darmstadt about 2 hours away from the track.

650 hp 🙄

In my day cars were made with REAL hp. 😂

I can't even imagine that hellcat with over 800 hp. Theres videos all over the internet of stock ones. Lordy!

I'll stick to my diesels.
