Sresites
I don’t have an answer to this. An iPhone pic will most generally rotate itself to 90 degrees posting on a forum such as this one. Screen shoot that pic and all is fine. Need an answer please. It was mentioned to go to edit and rotate the pic. Edit it where? First pic, of course, a lens shot - the other a screen shot - the third a lens shot pre-rotated 90 degrees before posting.
MTB98
Open your photo and tap “Edit” Then tap the rotation box at the bottom and rotate your picture around then DONE
stronger800
I will try that, next time one of my pictures goes wrong way. I feel like 90% of the time though, my pictures are fine. Older iPhone here

stronger800
I rotated at 90, it posted 180. Or perhaps
MTB98
I’ve made it work by turning it all the way around even if it’s right to start with. Sometimes I’ve had to rotate it around and then slightly crop one side and save it then it will post correctly. Different forums use different software that needs special techniques I guess 😂
Sresites
MTB98 That’s exactly what I did with the original snap shot. What you’re showing is my screen shot.
Ian Beale
Youmean you can't just rotate the phone and let the plumb bob turn the picture?

I saved your photo then took screenshots of the edit process. After you rotate it around and get it into the orientation you want (with iPhone in normal position, home button on the bottom) then crop one edge of the picture slightly then tap DONE. It should post correctly with the photo saved like that.
Long Farms
This website itself needs a photo rotate edit option when you upload a photo.
FarmallFan
If the photo is taken in landscape rotation, the iPhone's volume buttons need to point down. Otherwise the image will improperly rotated when viewed anywhere but on the iPhone.
Sresites
My original pic was taken in portrait position, volume buttons to the left. I have the iPhone X. The following pic was taken in landscape position of encroaching development in the background.
Gearclash
Always take pictures with the phone horizontal and the camera button to the right, i.e. the bottom of the phone to the right. This has pretty much put an end to my picture orientation problems.
