Had a 86 series tractor in for several repairs, wonder how many of these are still out there and working? Thought it was neat that both are in working order. Mic plugs into the left rear speaker cover.

The integrated AM/FM/CB was an option back then.   Like the AM/FM/8 track our 1486 came with.      May be more out there than you think, since the 80's were the height of CB coolness (Break 1-9, Callin Rubber Duck, you there good buddy?)
I still have the OEM GM/Delphi  AM/FM/CB radio out of the '83 Olds 98 I had back in the early 90's - somewhere.

Sorry, gotta go listen to "Convoy".....

I pulled the original IH AM/FM 8 track out of my 1086 last year.  It worked but would lose the station and have to be tuned.

The 186 only has an AM Radio. I choose to leave it in the tractor when we restored it.

The one in our 986 is still working. Had it out many years ago cause it wouldn't change channels, had a TV, Radio repair shop repair it. Ain't no such thing as a repair shop for electronics any more.

I think these were all made by REI out of Nebraska?   https://www.radioeng.com/

I know they make replacements for the 86 series tractors and probably more.

The company now puts NOA Weather Radios in if you want.

That would be handy for a farmer.

I was always under the impression that REI made them for quite a few OEMs

The 1086 Grandpa bought new has the 8 track. The radio still works and I actually have an 8 track to try in it but haven’t yet.
