I used to spend my nights in a bar room
Liquor was the only love I've known
But you rescued me from reaching for the bottom
And brought me back from being too far gone

Tennessee Whiskey. The David Allen Coe version!

Joe did a ton of good music.  I think he's a decent guy, although probably partied a bit much back in the day.

Have you heard some of his more recent stuff?  I can relate to the title song on this album - analog man.

I always liked Joe Walsh. I caught some parts of an interview he did a few years back and it was hilarious, that guy is quite a character. As far as partying goes, he said in the interview that he did a tour with Ozzy in the 80s. He doesn't remember it, the only reason he knows they did one is because he found some posters from the tour.

I follow a FB page named Classic Country Music Stories. It talks about the background of songs that were at #1 on a date or just a huge hit. The story I read today was of this song, going #1 March 3rd, 1973.

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends

Greenday

Wake Me Up When September Ends

Song by Green Day

I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me, and I walk alone

Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Song by Green Day

Well, I took a walk around the world to ease my troubled mind
I left my body lying somewhere in the sands of time
But I watched the world float to the dark side of the moon
I feel there's nothing I can do, yeah

Kryptonite
Song by 3 Doors Down

Daddy worked hard for his dollar
He said some folks don't, but that's okay
But they won't know which road to follow
Because an easy street, might lead you astray

Sawyer Brown The Dirt Road.

Popped into my head the other day and thought of this thread.

Another older one I thought of too

I came from a town that was so small you look both ways and you could see it all
All I wanted was some way out every evening I'd slip into town
And stand around by the caution light and watch the big trucks rolling by
For me it was a beautiful sight big wheels in the moonlight

Dan Seals big wheels in the moonlight.

I know that guy (Chris Knight)

"well I would of bought my grandpa's farm, but I couldn't raise quite enough cash"

My favourite isn't in the first line but the first couple by Tracy Lawrence-I've got a feeling

I'm out here stranded on this Oklahoma Road
nothing but a broken truck, heat and dust
and a million high line poles

Dan Seals     songs    are great .....my favourite-  ''Still Reelin"   from those rock and roll   nights

...Ah yes, poor / farmer / logger....there is another great dimension to you......Any one who champions Dan Seals  gets my vote....we can   even start now to overlook that vexed business of a diesel transfer into an innocent  snow mobile...
