dads706
This time of year I usually wear a long sleeve thermal top under my T-shirt. I've got a couple that are pretty ratty... (she says I am embarrassing to go anywhere with) and since I want to make a presentable fashion statement........on the last grocery run I head for Wally World. I get to the men's section and can't really find anything but socks and man thongs (didn't even know they made such a thing). So I asked the cute little Mexican girl who was working there...."Where are your thermal underwear tops?"......"oh,we are sorry, we haven't had any all season and probably won't get any till next fall". I guess Roundup isn't the only thing in short supply. I figure if Wally World doesn't have it, then things must be tight.
ray54
Just because the store is out you don't know about the distribution system. Before the pandemic my wife had a hard time finding cat food flavors the cats here wanted. I know they can eat it or not, but that is not her. She found she could order it on line and was delivered it to the house 15 miles out of town, the same price as in store. Never had trouble getting what she wanted. A lot of time delivered a day earlier than promised. So give the on line thing a try.

1256pickett
I’ve had a few thermals that have been a little ratty for a few years bought some new ones but I keep wearing the old ones. They are still warm and always under a long sleeved shirt. I think they are pushing 10-12 years old now. At this rate they might make it to 20 but I doubt it. Red Collector
As far as clothing in stores goes, I don't think it can entirely be blamed on supply issues. It seems to me that this is normally the time that spring and summer clothing starts showing up on the racks. Similarly, I know in past years I've had a hard time finding something like "carpenter pant" style shorts after about Aug 1, because they are all gearing up for fall/ winter. Think about those places, too... Sep 1.... all the Halloween stuff is out. By Halloween, since hardly any of them seem to think Thanksgiving matters, the Christmas stuff goes out on the sales floor, then before the big ball drops in NYC, all the Valentine's stuff is on the shelves. Just the way it goes

Lars (midessa)
When it comes to clothing, as others have mentioned, the supply is ‘one season ahead’ of the calendar. As for Wally World, they are last on my list of suppliers, haven’t been in one for months. And if I do find myself there, I will not buy anything originating from China(this applies to all stores). I have twice since Christmas, battled Covid-ish cold and flu, and I know who started this crap.
