D282 factory turbo replacement

Recommended Posts

That setup will interfere with the current air cleaner on a 706, since its currently mounted right where that exhaust elbow would want to be.  Not sure how you'd want to go about relocating the air cleaner, probably have to customize something.  A 560 dry-type air cleaner was mounted on top of the hood, right in front of the operator, if that was added in addition to the turbo setup.

I looked around and talked to quite a few people about the 606 garrett. you can find seals and bearings but thats it. if you damage an impeller or a housing then its a doorstop. I looked around for a while gathering info and ended up using a new turbo that is for an Allis Chalmers 190XT. for the most part it was a bolt on affair. It even used the same oil drain tube as the garrett. I plumbed a new pressure line because they old one had a spot that was rubbed thin. The exhaust elbow Needed to be re-indexed since the IH manifold sits at an angle to the ground and the AC manifold is flat. No big deal to re drill 4 holes. I did mine on a 560 but would be the same for a 706 minus the air filter housing
