Eason
This tractor was my 1st cousins and we restored it for him and his grandaughters. I'm a little disapointed in the decals from Dakotah Toy. They are too bright white.
65806
You did a great job on that. looks just like mine. I agree they missed the white color by a mile.
65806
I take mine along to tractor shows and let kids ride it while their dads talk tractors. Lots of fun.
Alan Dinan
The IH dealer in Sparta, Illinois had an 806 for the kids to ride while dad was talking to the owner. I remember riding on it for a while and then go into the office and listen to the stories that were told. Great memories!!

That’s one of my favorite tv shows of all time. Actually it was filmed in Covington Georgia. The fictional town was Sparta Mississippi. I think there was a 1206 being worked on in the service department when they came in to do some questioning?

That’s right I remember seeing that 806 as well and thinking how odd it was that they had white fenders. I couldn’t exactly remember, I watched the TV show quite often but I haven’t seen the actual movie in a while.

Lots of IH at the dealership: tractors, pickups, windrowers, combines.....

Yes it was, the man that owned the dealership passed away in 2020 at 94 and his wife is still living in the house that they bought in the late 70’s early 80’s. The 1206 stayed local, but they couldn’t remember the story about the white wheels on the 806. I got to visit with him several times in 2019, but he was having memory issues because of a medication that he was on. His wife did quite a bit in the office, I guess pretty much the office manager. She said that while they filmed the movie, she was sending toys to LA for the film crew. They loved the toys!!

It sure would be cool to know what the deal was about that 806. I always wondered if it could have been because they swapped an ice cream box cab off an 806 to put on a 1206, and so put the fenders off the 1206 on to the 806? But that still wouldn’t explain the white wheels on the 806. Unless someone wanted white wheels on their 806 and some one wanted red wheels on their 1206? I guess we’ll never know. Alan Dinan
I thought that just the wheels were white? I’ll have to watch it again. The owner of the dealership is in the movie also, he’s cutting a piece of strap steel in the shop, in the background while Rod Steiger is talking to William Schallert. The director wanted “sparks” in the background. Their daughter was an extra, walking across a parking lot, she was 11.
