oleman
This is our 93 K2500 Suburban in our drive way on 29 Dec 21 it has 229,000 miles on it and we drove it to Fayetteville, Arkansas in Oct of 21. Except hail hits from a storm in 2018 it is still functional. I have included interior shots so you can observe what a Chevy is like after all these years. It was sold in Wyoming in 93, moved to Orange County Ca and came to Texas in 2016 when I got it. The left front wheel is original!

bitty
It's left 19 years ago but I got this one from my cousin at about 140k . He got it in 88 with 20k on it. '87 350, 700r4 , .308 he upgraded to .373 . He had 32"s and I put 35" back on it. This was just after I had it repainted. My cousin saw it 5 years after I got rid of it at county fair truck pull.

mike newman
@oleman......I well recall , some many posts ago, your uncharacteristic burst of vitriol...concerning a Ford V 8 powered vehicle....apparently it possesed some unfavourable aspects to which you found quite unacceptable........do you recall that ..???!!!!! ......as for your pictured 1993 Chevrolet.....there are some of us down under that would give our left testicle for a truck like that......However, a trade of such nature may not be very appealing...more of a metaphorical statement......plus the fact that our 'ever lovin' Socialist Govt has made it fiscally impractical to import a ''proper'' truck like that....d ue to the horrendous compliance costs of RHD conversion.... ...and I notice recently ...as in my new ""unvaccinated leper'' status into the local 'city' of Nelson, the new Dodge 1500 (half ton ?)...V8 petrol powered truck on display is around $180, 000 NZD's...including ''on road costs''.......something that few of us can ever aspire to....... Picture of the "Rugby " pickup.....cooling off after a tough climb..... Mike Yep, that Ford rant was based on a Ford 1988 F350 460 gas powered that I got for free from my Brother. After burning 8 quarts of engine oil and blowing enough smoke to start a ship, I got it home to Dallas Texas from his place in Pensacola Florida. (spent time on safety issues like no brakes and tires prior to running it on the road and since he said it ran fine I took his word for the engine) If it hadn't been a free gift of a "good running F350" from a Brother I would have dragged it back Florida, but being Family and All, I added it to my lifetime experience with Ford summed into 100 words or less. Eventually I spent $$$ on it and gave it back to my Brother because he was FORD man.
DT Fan
You guys have seen this p.o.s. in various other threads. I bought it new, now it's a quest to see how long before it just falls in two! It's had three issues this year alone that I thought were the end of the line for it. Cleaning the mass airflow sensor 'fixed' the transmission. Finally found the klunk, a little torsion bar mount work and about an hour welding the crack in the frame..... Most recently a gas tank strap rotted in two. I used some of my best wire and some other materials to get that back where it belongs. It's a 2003, that nice dent in the boxside happened at Colfax Tractor. Went down a path a little too narrow. Great thing about a truck like this, who cares!!! Edit; I should add that this my 'winter car'. I try hard not to drive the Buick or the Dodge pickup in the slop they are putting on the roads here today. 6

junkandcattle
93 cab and chassis all 6 tires under 50%. presently cracked leaf spring, broken mirror, two broken door handles, rust and hail dents with 210k on the clock. Nice scratches from rolling through a five wire fence a year or two back The good, recent front end and alignment, newer brakes, 350 with 70k on overhaul, added work lights and updated led fronts with a relay to run all high and low beams at once. Plus the push bumper allows me some freedom to let loose as needed. Dog loves the "mud" flaps😄
hobbyfarm
2wd 96 gmc 3500 cab and chassis. It has been a decent truck. I've had it for about 10 years. I only planned on it lasting 3 years when I bought it. For the first few years it hauled a lot of pumpkins and mini straw bales. A 2 owner vehicle that i gave $2500 for. Also have a 2002 chevy 2500 8.1/Allison. A 3 owner vehicle which has close to 276000 miles on it. If I think of it I'll take a pic when it is light out tomorrow.

Passenger side was bad a long time, when the drivers went and getting in was a real pita, I fixed them both. Had the right side handle for probably two years! MTB98
My definition of “beater truck” is a little different than most of you! Mine is a 1985 F350 chassis cab with 302W (under)power auto. The new tires cost more than I paid for the truck. It hauls hay and water and building materials just fine.

mike newman
...I have to say that the term '' Beater'' ......as defined in both "Merrimans and Oxford " dictionary....bears no possible connection to some of ..in fact ...any of the trucks on this topic...bitty , for one needs fifty lashes for leaving that classic Ford in that state.....and I do not mean the Keystone State... I would let Wes go with just a warning....as for Seth ....well what more can one say Wi ih needs some serious counselling...for calling his trucks ''beaters '' MTB98 is also guilty of handling the truth carelessly...but will be let off with a warning.....as for oleman....I well recall his historic and memorable treatise directed at the famous "Ford ' marque....as I recall he wanted to do a complete hysterectomy on that Ford truck.....and I think to bring him into line...swapping my 1988 Datsun pickup, white, with blue smoke...for his Suburban...that would certainly give him another perspective on life in America As for you, Jake.....abject envy is a terrible thing .........and I just love those American trucks.... Mike......the bloody rice burner kid 1
