2 IH 966s

Wish you good luck getting her running.

A 966 was my first big tractor (still use it)

The horsepower to weight ratio with duals works very well on our soft hay meadows.

It has been very good to me.

Thanks. I thought that drawbar support that’s in there was considered the heavy one?  Set ups like those parts there, pretty much don’t exist here in the east.

The mounts are for the wide swinging drawbar like wheatland/standard tractors would often have.

It looks like it does have the late 86 heavy support but it's hard to tell from that angle.

I can't even find a penny on the sidewalk these days.

Funny, there's been a penny on the sidewalk outside the back door of my parents' house for months. I'm afraid to pick it up because I don't know which side is supposed to be up for good luck and as soon as it's out of sight, it's out of mind, so I don't remember to look when I get near a computer.

966 is on my short list of favorite tractors. I would buy one right now if the right deal presented itself. No TA, one remote would be perfectly fine with me. It'd be getting a 2350 loader.

My dad had a 966 tractor that was bought new in '75 and was the most gutless tractor we ever had

Our 966 has earned its place around here. Pulled a 5-16 Oliver plow most of its life, even pulled the front wheels 4' off of the ground plowing frozen headlands before, never even lagged the engine. Ours is a rock star, starts faster than all of our tractors, no ether even at -28, lugs great and easy on fuel.

A N/A 400 series has a bit higher compression than a turbo version. John Deere engines are the same as most other mfg. about .5 compression ratio higher. If I remember JD 466 non turbo were 16.2 and turbo vs is around 15.6 or there. I know Ihc was the same.
