vtfireman85
Saw this in a customers basement, they tried to give it to me, what a beast!
Alan Dinan
The hinges have IH stamped into them!! It’s just sad they’re not made to last like that anymore.
Dirt_Floor_Poor
I would sure like to find a refrigerator and/or a freezer someday. It’s just not something you see everyday anymore.
vtfireman85
For all I know it runs. Not interested in retrofitting it and don’t have interest in using as is. The farm still has a 300,FH, TA, and those side mount front weights that was bought new by the owners father.

1586 Jeff
Let the other member of the Meathead Crew know about it. He was looking for one about 3.5 years ago......
stronger800
Neat. I just heard of one of those over the weekend that a family was looking to get rid of, only a few miles away for me. And apparently it still works, but the family is not known for being the easiest to deal with, so I’m not even going to ask.
IH Forever
My Dad has an IH freezer in his basement with his collection. Getting it down there sucked. I saw a freezer and 2 refrigerators sell at an auction a few weeks ago. I don't remember exactly what they brought but it wasn't much. The ice cube trays that were in the fridges would bring more than the whole fridge if they were sold separately.
Rawleigh99
McMaster-Carr sells the magnetic weather stripping for refrigerators and freezers if anyone needs it.
iowaboy1965
That freezer looks identical to the one mom and dad had the whole time I was growing up. Still worked in 86 when we moved off the farm. Gave it away.
SDman
In South Dakota it seems like IH refrigerators and freezers are as common as water still. Somebody is always trying to sell one or else give it away if you will come and load it up(especially freezers). I got an IH freezer similar to the one pictured for $20 on an online farm auction a couple years ago. I was the only bid. Included with it was all the paperwork from when it was sold new in 1950(?) to a guy I knew. Sad thing is, every IH refrigerator or freezer still seems to work. I've had several people over the years offer me one of either thinking I'm going to pay big money for it. Sorry, but I don't think they are worth all that much since there seem to be so many around that people are trying to get rid of.
DaveinSD
I used to have an IH freezer. During a storm the power started flickering on and off quite frequently, and I didn’t think to unplug the freezer until that passed. Unfortunately that took out the compressor, it worked great up until then, but wow was it a beast to move.
