gafarm49
It engages itself. The plunger in the valve underneath the floor is real easy to move back and forth. Any suggestions?

bitty
I am just thinking but I would start hooking a test light to the wires and make sure it's not getting electric when it is not pushed
gafarm49
Its a mechanical knob you step on that engages the plunger

Thought the 66 was like you are describing
606 diesel
This is an early 986 isn't it? If so it sounds like your spring lost tension or broke. Part number should be 113797c1 for the spring and the o-ring is 364885r1.

nepoweshiekfarmalls
Funny story relating to diff lock. My hydro 100 is the first machine I have owned with it installed. I went to move the tractor this spring and as I went to make a sharp turn, the tractor shook and resisted the turn. I was confused what was going on and pulled the hydro lever to neutral and stopped. Started looking around and discovered my prosthetic foot was resting on the actuator assembly! Ooops! 😖 Moved my foot forward and all was well again. I guess it does work!
