I am just thinking but I would start hooking a test light to the wires and make sure it's not getting electric when it is not pushed

Ok I thought it would be a dimmer switch looking electric button like my 186 has . Thought the 66 was like you are describing

Funny story relating to diff lock.  My hydro 100 is the first machine I have owned with it installed.  I went to move the tractor this spring and as I went to make a sharp turn, the tractor shook and resisted the turn.  I was confused what was going on and pulled the hydro lever to neutral and stopped.   Started looking around and discovered my prosthetic foot was resting on the actuator assembly!  Ooops! 😖 Moved my foot forward and all was well again. I guess it does work!
