I just don't like them or any of the new motors. Always wondered how complicated it would be to take a previous gen hyd brake F-650 (Super Duty cab with a B series Cummins & fuller trans) and put that on a pickup frame with pickup D60 / Sterling 10.5 axles and pickup box. In theory get the pickup WB/height and ride quality but with the power train and wiring etc all OEM. Need to figure out a divorced Tcase if you wanted 4x4 though. oldscoutdiesel
Early Ford 4X4's had a divorced in them like about mid to late 60's maybe into the early 70's before full time four wheel drive came about.
oleman
I have always been a Chrysler fan, so I could be a little prejudiced. A tobacco Farmer I knew in 1959 had a 51 Dodge 3/4T pickup it ran 750 X 16 tires and a granny low 4 speed with the flat-head six with a long bed. His tractor was a 1948 Super A and a pair of mules. Hauled everything to market and all the supplies to operate the farm on. Prior to Chrysler going belly up in 75 on trucks they had a reasonable product line and good products. I had an 84 Ramcharger once, considering the company was basically out of business at the time the little truck was actually not bad, as a 318 3.0 gears and 3 speed auto. I considered it residue from the previous pickup line.

Ford had a divorced transfer in the F-250s until mid 1977. When they changed to the low profile F-250 they went to the married transfer case.
