The ONLY way you could get a 826 gas was a Hydro. If you have a 826 gear drive it isn't factory. Also Raleigh at Herr's told me the 826 hydro transmission case is smaller than the 1026s. I meant 826 gas geardrive would not be factory.
stronger800
I was getting ready to puke, thinking I had the only ever factory 826 8spd and didn’t know it… other than I’ve gone to look at and try to buy two others since. Both were too rough

Learn something every day. 😃 826 and the 756 share the same grill and cast radiator housing, the 856 has the taller one, I have been around both before. If the weather doesn't totally suck tomorrow, I'll take a pic of them side by side and put this to rest.
606 diesel
The 856 has the taller grill go to google and count the bars on the 856 it has 14 bars, and the 826 has 11 bars. Also look at the cast nose piece. The 856 one is squared off while the 826 one is rounded off now look at the 756 it has only 10 bars. Also the 756 has the rounded off cast nose as well therefore one can conclude that the 856 has the biggest grill while the 826 and 756 grills are smaller otherwise IH would have used the same cast nose they were already making for the 856 would they not?. Long Farms
756 and 826 have same style radiator casting but they are NOT exact same. 826 with the D358 block being taller than a 310 needed more clearance under the fuel tank so the taller 856 steering column towers were used along with same hoods, main side skirts and radiator side panels as 856. Left rear corner hood skirt is different on 826 for the kill cable mount. The 826 used same middle hood as 756 and 856 custom w/37 gal fuel tank. Fuel tank fill spout hole is centered on 37gal fuel tank tractors vs off centered on 42gal fuel tank tractors. 826s are about 2" taller from frame rails to top of hood. 706-756 are same height. 826-1456 are same hood height. No need to google here. All 3 models sit in my shop. I can throw down P/Ns and pics if more clarification and proof is needed.
stronger800
I knew our old 826 didn’t look small in any way.

No, they do not. The 826 grille casting & grille is taller, same dimensions as the 856. The grille casting & grille on an 826 is unique to that tractor only. We have all three, a 756, 826, and 856. Between Dad & I, we have every 26/56 series tractor, except a 656 (and I don't care that we don't have that model)

DT Fan
Here's pics of the 756 and 826 side by side, they aren't real good. Sun was behind the tractors. The 826 grill has one more bar.
stronger800
Spaced a little bit closer together so it’s the same height overall

You can see the difference in the side panels too. I looked at this pretty close as the 358 could have gone in the 756 but the height difference was a deal breaker. stronger800
My bad. (I was thinking your 756 was an 856). I’ve never been around a
