606 diesel
Yes it can be welded find someone that is really good with a tig welder and have them weld it.
EJQ
I would not weld it. Chased that problem on my 826. I don't know what they used in Germany to cast it but it has a lot of impurities in it. The heat from welding it can warp the sealing surface to the point it won't seal. I was finally forced to find a replacement for the 826. Be very careful, or I just had bad luck. 606 diesel
You have to make sure it is clean, degrease the part and cutting tools you use on it even the wire brush and make sure the wire brush is a stainless steel one and it should work fine use acetone to clean the part good. Nebraska1206
Had to find a good used one here a few months ago for a 786 after one of the mounting ears cracked & broke off. NOS ones aren't an option here in the states anymore. During my search online, I came across an image on the internet, showed a new, billet-machined water manifold for a German engine. The post was from overseas, a few years old, but nonetheless, I was intrigued about it. Looked like a heavy-duty water manifold that definitely wouldn't break or leak ever again!
acem
If you need one I can probably get you one. Thx-Ace
Missouri Mule
Sounds like you've nothing to lose. I'll bet money it would warp somewhat but you could always have it surfaced. If it's just a small crack what about like a silicon bronze or aluminum bronze??? By not having to lay the heat to it you might be better off. I'm not a welder I'm asking FYI. Super A_sepa
There has been an ad in the Agtalk classifieds for new German water manifolds, looks like the photo above if I remember right. Could be the same outfit.
