Yes it will......provided it has small base pan and starter generator/manual PTO......drop in.

If using a Quiet Line 14hp, there are a few changes to make.

86 is a bit of a rare bird,  I would keep the original 8hp engine around in case you ever want to restore it.

i have a 12 hp.. i could put in it.Could i  really tell much difference in a 12hp  versus 14hp .  the 86 is  not really sought after are they ? just bought it, no nothing about it. thinking about building a front end loader for it.   i think the 86 was the no 5 least cub cadet as far as numbers built.

86 is a bit rare to a collector because of the low production numbers. 

12hp vs 14hp, on the drawbar/pto, yup you can tell.....on a loader, no.

I would put the loader on a hydro and use your repowered 86 for fun stuff like plowing.   Gear drive and loader are a bad combo in my book.....too much back and forth and hard on clutch bucking piles etc.

My loader is on a hydro with a foot drive conversion......very slick to use.
