Finished the crops early Sunday afternoon. Cleaned up the combine yesterday morning and put some stuff away and started this yesterday afternoon. Woke up at 3 this morning without a alarm, had a couple cups of coffee and thought might as well get going. We were pretty blessed in our area this year. Wheat, hay and fall crops did good. We were pretty dry last year

Swing hoppers are great but they sure splatter a lot of corn on the ground, I hauled some corn for a neighbor a couple weeks ago and when I went back to open the trap on the truck there was an old mud flap from a truck laying in the hopper and I thought,  well ok, guess everyone has there own method, couldn't believe it but if you got it in the right spot the corn would just pile up on it and run off the sides. I don't think there was a scoop shovel of corn there from filling a 28,000 bushel bin, learn something new every day.

I would really appreciate seeing a picture of that!!

The perfectly centered picture of the 'Man In the Moon", has to have been the inspiration for the "smiling emoji"  🙂

Guess you find that picture a little more palatable than the  unfortunate  ''Brooks and Dung ""   theme of recent day's, Art ? :D

(I found that very amusing !!!)

That’s a great drawing!  Stick figures are about all I can draw.

This is what I do while running the cart in beans….can be a terribly boring job.

Here...I fixed it.\

I sorta cheated on this-I took a picture with my flip-phone and blew it up and copied it.

The suitcase weights are all too far to the left, the left dual is too far out, the left tire on the cart is too far far forward.....anyhow, hope yall like it.

We still have several hundred acres of corn and milo to do.

It wasn’t dark this afternoon when I baled the last load of hay for 2021, but it was dark by the time we had the machines parked back inside. And cold.  Finished washing up a discbine after that.  Snow coming tomorrow.

Baling hay in mid November? How did you get it to dry? Windrows would be in standing water here and rains every other day.

Freeze dried.  Baled Sunday, Monday and today.  Tedded 3x yesterday.  Tedded, raked, reraked, to keep it moving off the ground today. Dried better than what we were doing three weeks ago.  Frost sucked the moisture right out.  Wind helped. We had the twine pulled out of the balers and were starting to clean them up two weekends ago.

Sun hasn't been out long enough to dry anything here, nor have we had a heavy enough frost to freeze dry. Hovers right around the freezing mark, still have not had a strong killing frost. The joys of the lake. Just dropped another 1" of rain this morning.
