twostepn2001
l have posted this video about this time for the past 6 or 7 years. lt shows the basic steps of harvesting cotton and the ginning process. The harvesting portion is pretty well outdated since most cotton growers now use the JD module baler. That has eliminated the need for boll buggys and the rectangle module builders. But the hauling and ginning is still pretty accurate.

On FB one of the area gins said that yesterday was the first day they've hit a 1000 bales in a day.
Delta Dirt
Cotton harvest is just getting to rolling along over here in the Delta. Crop was late getting planted-----still see some green fields scattered around. No report on yields-----but looks good in field. Grain is wrapped up------most tillage completed for next year. Things happen in a hurry with today's big 12 row equipment!!!!! DD
Delta Dirt
Rumor has it that some "medicine bottle quality" samples have been coming back from the Booger Creek Gin out in west Texas???? DD
jworley
Harvest on an outstanding cotton crop here in central and South Georgia is just getting going. We had one of the wettest and coolest summers I think I’ve ever seen in 53 years of being here. There’s some drowned out spots but I think the rest is going to more than make up for it. the pic is a screenshot from a video in the last field of cotton I top dressed this year on 8/
