vtfireman85
Been talking about upgrading to a 255, has some nice features, like the quick disconnect and portable size, inverter machine and more energy efficient with higher capacity. Local welding supply said 4200 for a new 252 and 4800 for the 255… not sure why they are so close. In any event the 252 is I believe a 2010 model year, cart, regulators, miller gun and drive rolls for .030 and 0.035. I know there have been some folks on here looking at used welders and probably have a better idea on what to start asking for this one, I’ll post a picture later it is in nice shape, some paint scuffs on top but otherwise excellent. Brent1086
A brand new. Miller 252 is around 3500. Used are 2200-2600. Unless that machine has a spool gun it is way high. Look at cyberweld for price.

Not sure, the conversation was over the phone with Air Gas, they usually tack on a hazmat handling fee to everything from rod to gloves.. i didn't get real particular with my specifications so there may have been some extras too. mjcolemn
Check with Maine Oxy, I think you'll find better pricing. I just bought a Lincoln from them. I switched to them for gas several years ago because they were way less than Airgas.
Brent1086
The base model 255 with running gear is 3750. My local welding supply is always spot on with cyber weld on pricing.

They usually have blue on the floor so i called them first. Ill check maine oxy before doing anything
5488ih
U sure the price quoted for the 255 was for a millermatic not a multimatic? I bought a fully equipped multimatic when they first came out. Big difference in prices between the 2.
5488ih
Top one is the millermatic 255. Bottom one is millermatic

MarkG
I’m looking at a 255 millermatic also. It does pulsed mig with recommended settings. I’ve been watching videos about pulsed mig and it can do vertical spray. They say it’s easier for a novice. ( that’s me ). If you buy one let us know how you like it. I have used the 255, that’s why i am so sold on it, i am a long term novice welder, and for vertical and overhead the pulse is the cats whiskers. I CAN do it with stick, i CAN do it with mig but not nearly as nicely as with the pulse on the 255, actually, my father is hooked on Dual Shield wire and that combined with pulse gets pretty great penetration out of position and is easy to keep from dripping…. I will take all the help i can get
