Hi. Guess we need a little more information into your problems.

The IH 724 will be a Nuess German or a St Dizer France made tractor from the early/mid 1970's, guess you are in Canada? I know they had some of the German and French built tractors over there.

The PTO clutch is a hand lever dry clutch that works as a dual part clutch with the main drive clutch fixed to the engine flywheel. The free play of the lever can be adjusted apart from that its about it.

Does the PTO slip in use, or hard to get into gear with an implement drive shaft  fitted ?

Thats about all I can tell you about the PTO on these tractors, hopefully someone may give  you some more info.

Alex.

Thanks for the reply yea you have to shut the tractor off engage the clutch then start the tractor back up b4 getting into it want to get a few parts lined up the engine parts seem to be easy to find but drive parts and pto seem to hard to track down

You do know that you have to pull the big cast lever back on the console then engage the pto lever by your feet then put the big cast lever ahead to engage the pto?
