A full rack of weights, good tires, and axle duals make it very attractive! Interestingly, it has the Western interior seat, but red right hand door panel... and with the lower door pocket! The door grab handles are nice, although they weren't really needed in that year with the inside upper door handle to slam it shut. It might just need a full service to help the hydraulic whine, but who knows on the transmission noise that you hear. That is the burgandy seat, not the western. Mine faded to look just like that. R190
With transmission noise it could be close to full retail those tractors are not real popular the gear ratios are very undesireable I couldn't make money on it in central Mn if the transmission is actually good you could come out ok but I would bet thepark lock gear is out and that is a lot of work and parts by the time you get it fixed if you want to get top dollar
gafarm49
its a crap shoot for sure. bought a 15 and have been running the stew out of it with hardly any issues. bought a 10 and it developed water in the oil, then after running it alittle the clutch came apart. fixed that and then after a bit the TA started slipping. I guess I'm working my way to the back

Makes a difference that I'm no mechanic and had the work done on mine. So the cheap $7700 running 1066 I bought 8yrs ago with 2250 <correction, 2350> loader on it and new tires on back at an auction only ate about $5k more in repairs with the best mechanics in our area (cheap and well spent money for all the things they fixed, the great work, and by really good fellows). Runs terrific now, but it's probably not worth $12.7k. It'll be a good tractor for me for decades from this point, probably, so I'm not wishing I hadn't done all that. But, I'd have liked that I'd done that with a cab 86 better, with my allergies and dry eye issues. I like an AC. That 1066 of mine has a notch in the dipstick, and I asked one of the fellows, "what's that notch about, reckon?" "Most likely that's where the transmission came apart inside and they replaced everything but the dipstick." Btw, I'm a native to Alabama too, and we don't all talk like Gump... most of us only are 60-80% that drawl-prone. I think it's all the bbq, hush puppies, catfish, peanuts poured in coke a colas, and RC colas and moon pies that did it to us. I was grown before I realized Andy Griffith wasn't a documentary. Dad carried me out of church for playing in the floor when I was 3 or so years old, and I knew what was coming... then he said out front in the yard, in a kind voice and smiling gently, and I quote from vivid memory, "now we can't do what you was doing just then... I can't and you can't neither" then he spanked me. But, it was kind of like were in this thing together. Only difference between him and Andy was Pop's Galaxie 500 was yellow, and he carried the mail in his.
