Dwayne H
I got a 504 from a neighbor found out the tractor throwed a piston through the block it has a d188 is there any other engines that are interchangeable with it. Or does anyone out there have a useable international D188 diesel engine that you are willing to part with, thank you
TomH
If it is a utility which I'm guessing it is, you are stuck with a D188. Possibly a D166 from a 340 might fit but would make for a reduction in power.
IHRedDrive
D188 is a gutsy engine, have one on our Farmall version. If you want a replacement block, call Bates Tractor in Bourbon, Indiana.

Possibly in a Farmall 504 which does. I think and maybe someone else knows for sure that the clutch housing is the same for a Farmall 544 and 504.
