I second what ksfarmdude said and the only thing I would add is:

1. If needed at all, this would be a great time to pull the shaft and repair any "worn in" spots where the clutch pedal rides. (you can drill & bush the pedal to match for a perfect, as-new pedal fit)

2. Whether you pull the shaft or not, make sure you clean it off well and check for burrs, etc, before you slide your seals on.

Not sure that shaft can be taken out unless the transmission is disassembled it has a flat spot in the middle  of the shaft to clear the ring gear

The shaft will not come out, won't clear the ring gear, like ksfarmdude  said. Only way to replace the seals, remove pedals and half moon keys, or complete differential tear down to remove shaft.

That key has to come out....keep working at it.   Maybe a little heat to break any rust?

Wow well whatever works I guess , I've never had issues taking them out , it doesn't look rusted either , Make sure you have a shim washer next to the seal after its in place it will act as a shield from dirt getting next to the seal lip
