Hard to tell but the back half looks to be 806 parts. The 18.4  castings with the center bolts could be from other tractors but it was a early standard 806 common thing

Def a gear drive transmission. The bread and butter I-1026 S/N tag is gone and so is the value.

yes I have both , the ser tag is on the bell housing not on the rear end !

You have the original I-1026 Hydro trans seperate from the Tractor but came with the tractor? I know exactly where the S/N tag is and supose to be but there's no way that gear drive Trans S/N tag is legit to that tractor. NO 1026s rolled off the line as a gear drive and the "half 1026" in the pic is clearly a gear drive Trans.

I have the back half as well, the hydro was weak so guy split the tractor  and using a 806 rear end , I have had 3 of the wheatland models over the years , very rare model, The original tag is still on the tractor

So they removed the I-1026 S/N from original hydro trans and placed it on the 806 gear drive Trans when they did the weak hydro trans and rear end swap along with the complete steering tower column? Were you able to get original wheatland/standard style grille w/head lights and the hydro style steering tower column  with it too?

I don't think he was saying they moved any tags, just split it at the “flywheel” ,  rolled in the trans and rear (fuel tank and/hood/column the quick and easy way) off the 806, and bolted it up.

Tag still on the trans that’s on a pallet.  

its red, it’s running and not scrap, so I like it.  

Its not like he’s listed it for sale as original.

We have a 1026 row crop with an 806 rear end here at work.   Original identity of the 1026 was lost with the rear end.

Though it might be pretty well till all the work of going through the Hydro and bolting it back together right. Lot of little details to get right going back to "factory" from some cheap farmer fix although if all is on the back half on skids that helps.

There is always some smart ass on every page that knows everything and puts everything down . A 1026 wheatland is very rare like maybe 55 made . I am just about ready to delete my posting because of know it all’s . Wonder how many of know it all’s have had a 1026 wheatland , I have had 3 in past years . Then u wonder why people leave these sites !!!

In all fairness, had you included this picture and the rest of the story from the start, you would have received a warmer reaction.

+1............Since I have a brother who has owned Deere's that were 1 of 200 some, 1 of 400 some, I do know you better have your ducks in a row because the rarer it is the more the rivet counters will investigate.............I am not a hardcore collector at all and seen that picture and the first thing I thought of was, "Hmm, you got a hood", so if someone like me was thinking that, someone else who gets down to the proper bolts in the right spots is definitely going to question it.

I keep the 1026 S/N Registry so yes its my duty to question a Frankenstein I-1026 that you post a 100yd pic of with no other proof if it's legitimacy that we all know is just gonna be jockey'd. Your just pulling the same crap Chris Brunsvold use to do before it caught up to him and he hung himself.

Yep for sure. About all there was in the first post was a hood and side panels. The rest makes a much more complete story. I'm glad it's being saved and it will look much better in yesterdays tractors classifieds when it is bolted back to its original rear end. 

But it is true like TP said the rarer it is the more scrutiny there will be.

I'm glad some folks like the wheatlands because I wouldn't want to farm with them here. Wear out too fast and never seen the turn radius as any better, most worse. Wobbly down the road at least on our roads in here. I know they have their place.    

I know it is the missing piece to someone's collection but just because it's rare does not make it valuable to me personally.

Will be nice to see it back in working order.

For someone who adamantly states they know what they have & brags how many rare ones he's had in the past, there's one simple way to prove us all wrong & that you're not trying to pull a fast one on somebody:  A picture of the serial number tag.  A lack of pictures of a rare tractor screams to me a shady deal in the making.

There's been members here before that have come & gone because of their shady tractor deals & flips.  One's reputation eventually catches up with them.

Rebuilt hydro and put back together, it would be something though right? As in, very much worth doing correctly.  Would it get the fenders at that point, or the cab? Honest question. I’m in NY, and those tractors never existed here.
