I know exactly where the S/N tag is and supose to be but there's no way that gear drive Trans S/N tag is legit to that tractor. Long Farms Posted July 15, 2021 Share Posted July 15, 2021 So they removed the I-1026 S/N from original hydro trans and placed it on the 806 gear drive Trans when they did the weak hydro trans and rear end swap along with the complete steering tower column? stronger800 Posted July 15, 2021 Share Posted July 15, 2021 I don't think he was saying they moved any tags, just split it at the “flywheel” , rolled in the trans and rear (fuel tank and/hood/column the quick and easy way) off the 806, and bolted it up. Tag still on the trans that’s on a pallet. its red, it’s running and not scrap, so I like it. Its not like he’s listed it for sale as original. Though it might be pretty well till all the work of going through the Hydro and bolting it back together right. A 1026 wheatland is very rare like maybe 55 made . I am just about ready to delete my posting because of know it all’s . Yep for sure. About all there was in the first post was a hood and side panels. The rest makes a much more complete story. I'm glad it's being saved and it will look much better in yesterdays tractors classifieds when it is bolted back to its original rear end. But it is true like TP said the rarer it is the more scrutiny there will be. I'm glad some folks like the wheatlands because I wouldn't want to farm with them here. Wear out too fast and never seen the turn radius as any better, most worse. Wobbly down the road at least on our roads in here. I know they have their place. I know it is the missing piece to someone's collection but just because it's rare does not make it valuable to me personally. Will be nice to see it back in working order. Nebraska1206 Posted July 16, 2021 Share Posted July 16, 2021 For someone who adamantly states they know what they have & brags how many rare ones he's had in the past, there's one simple way to prove us all wrong & that you're not trying to pull a fast one on somebody: A picture of the serial number tag. A lack of pictures of a rare tractor screams to me a shady deal in the making. There's been members here before that have come & gone because of their shady tractor deals & flips.
