That Titan and TD25…..E? Are quite impressive, not to mention everything else Tony pictured!

It take TRUE DEDICATION to restore a BIG crawler like a TD-25.  And there it sits looking better than factory new.  I've watched several hours of videos of TD-24 & TD-25 videos,  the videos of the "24's dozing jungle vegitation are great.

I scrolled right past the TITAN, restoring that took hundreds maybe thousands of hours of work.  Not many experts around anymore that remember them in use.

Watched the video of Tony's 55-W running.  I ran the neighbor's D-17 mostly pulling his 55-T baling, used his WD-45 a time or two, then his D-19 he traded the '17 for. Listening to that C-113 engine bark every time the governor went wide open when the plunger hit was an enjoyable afternoon's entertainment.  The knotters were getting touchy, typically had Me on the tractor, neighbor on the rack, Dad sitting on the twine box tinkering with the knotters and re-tying bales.  Those 55-series balers REALLY ate hay & straw!  I got way too used to raking monster windrows.

....another innocent  little bloke.....probably   now scarred   for life :(......tragic.....at least it was on a IH tractor .....:D

...next thing he will be working the forge.....making   more hammers.....Oh well....hammers could come in handy......soon

....and making little anvils....I guess.........Its a worry, Todd.....:)

Mike

This is true. I’m not going to force him but if he wants, I will teach him what little I know. At 4 now he is pretty curious and retains more than I realize.  I worry about things like that a little bit but know all I can do is teach him right/wrong and anything else I know that he is willing to absorb. I can’t change the big picture, just deal with it as best I can. At least he got his looks from his mother ?

I’m sure Danny is still scratching his head from some of what he “learned” on that tractor ride. lol

If your taking about the Farmington Implement DVD’s I totally agree. Back in the 30’s and 40’s it amazes me how men used those machines to build dams and do forestry work

Its a 650. I believe it hails from the Nashville IL area. At one point there was some more explanation on it here. I think it belongs to the family of @TheIHMan if I remember correctly. Maybe he can fill in the details and correct me where I was wrong ?

You got it right Todd.

My uncles put this tractor together sometime in the 70's. Its the combination of a junkyard 650 repowered with an IH DV550 V8. The purpose of the tractor was to pull a 7yd scraper that we used at the time to reshape our pasture fields so we could row crop farm them after we sold the dairy cows. This combination sometimes required another 650 outfitted with custom built front blade to push behind the scraper depending on the hills. We did farm with it some in the 70s and 80s but it was never one of the main farming tractors. A few years back I had put it in a local parade and before the parade I drove it across an elevator scale. With the 30.5's full of fluid it weighted somewhere around 14,750 lbs, just a little heaver than a factory one!

The main downside to the conversion was that the tractor is geared very fast with the V8 engine in it. When I was moving it back to its storage shed after red power round up last week I pulled my phone out as I was going down the road in 5th gear and it said I was going 28mph at around 3/4 throttle. I've never been dumb enough to open it all the way up in 5th gear lol.

@DirtBoyz07 can tell us for sure but I think the dash is the standard 7100 series Magnum dash.

That is his 5388 dash , I believe he put it together the way that factory had spec it .

hopfully he will chime in
