Crack them over a rock first and snake will devour if blood still warm. Have SO much to teach you....? I used to work at a large national chain pet store while I was in school. We were VERY humanitarian (he said with a tinge of sarcasm), so we fed the snakes flash frozen mice that are thawed in water just prior to feeding. If the snakes were young enough, they would eat them. The older ones, who'd lived their life at the snake farm on real live mice, wouldn't ea them. they'd get so emaciated we'd have to pack them all up and take them to the vet for evaluation and treatment. the evaluation was "they're not eating enough", and the treatment was that the vet would feed them live mice. Now, many of the policies, I really liked. Such as not selling dogs and cats, but facilitating a local shelter with adopting out cats. I like that a lot. Puppies need space to live in a grow. A pet store is not the place for that. We fed the best product to all species, and we were encouraged to take pets out and socialize them with humans, which I suppose is also good for pleasing the customer in the end, but it's good for the animals too. We didn't feed with customers present. I think it was for PETA type-related purposes, but it kept the crazies at bay. You know the ones who just enjoy the kill. But that no-live-mice policy was just a bit to brilliant for me to understand. it's been many years. I have no idea if they still do things this way. I hope left wing officials don't get wind of that and making it mandatory. I hate the idea of 1200# steers high on pot.
