Hydro 100 with FWA

Recommended Posts

There are no official records detailing such options as mfd. that’s because it could have been added at the dealer, or even years later on the farm. A hydro was less likely to have it added, as it requires the reverse idler gear that wasn’t in a typical hydro tractor.

Should be a black stripe hydro 100 somewhere on here.  Guy in Indiana owns it.....     Takes it plow days and I believe it's been to Rantoul for progress days.

Here's a picture I found.

I took this video at Rantoul in 2015 I believe. I was told it was pieced together but cannot vouch for that. It is a sharp machine no matter what.

That one belongs to Keith Hoover. They had it at the 2008 Chapter 7 plow day but it didn't have the decals installed yet.

My uncle picked one up a few years ago, also with a Coleman FWA, someone did it up as a blackstripe but it’s not correct. He would like to restore it eventually back to original. For now it’s on feed wagon duty and the hydro makes it pretty handy for that. My understanding is that the FWA was added by a dealer at some point.

Our mechanic had one when he dairy farmed on his own in Troopsburg NY. He said he hated it. I think he got his from a dealer/auctioneer in Newark Valley and it was wooped before he got it

If I wouldn't have been just a dumb kid, I should have looked for a big frame hydro fwa when I started ranching.

But I probably would not have got one bought for the 5100 I gave for my 966.

No complaints however, the "9" was a good choice and paid for itself quickly then went to making me money.

I look at some of the high dollar tractors on bankruptcy sales and am glad I didn't go that route.

Who knows, maybe I'll run across a big hydro for a price I can live with some day.
