Tractor of the week # 14 1456

INTERNATIONAL 1466

Recommended Posts

I love 56 series overall. Grew up on an 856 and 656. Currently have 1256. Back of my mind I hope to one day track down my uncles 1456, but I haven’t ever bothered because I know cash flow won’t allow it. I know where to start because it went through local dealership around 2000. I should track it down just to see where it’s at.

Not all my pics, but a few I had saved off the net that I liked for one reason or another, from shows and a couple local 1456's

Pictures of my 1970 built 1456. I bought it from Leaman's in Pennsylvania in 1993. They had gotten it in Iowa.

Most of it's use here is on the forage harvester.

I have the emblems ( which need painting) and Turbo decals, but it runs just as good without them !

Honestly, you should research as much as possible on it.  The day might come where you may have the means to afford it.

Yeah you talked me into it.  Does anyone  in western ny knows of an open station 1456 that went through Lamb&Webster in Springville ny around 2000? I might talk to Mr Lamb later in the week.

My 1456, the day it arrived with 2 806s from Kansas. The trucker said he got lots of thumbs-up on his way cross country. Dad and stepmom went to a herd reduction auction at friend's out there and bought the 806s; I bought the 1456 after the sale, and later bought the International 806 from Dad. Mike has the Farmall 806.

I put a Hinson Royal Guardian cab on it, salvaged from an 856 by a tractor jockey. Main use is the planter tractor, but it has seen a lot of the implements around here.

It and the 826 demo will be the last 2 working tractors (as opposed to the little collector or chore tractors) I will ever sell. They are just nice to handle.

Bought my 1970 model yesterday, what a great old piece of iron.  I’m a beginning farmer and this will be my workhorse for a little while.  I’m looking for a nice curved chrome stack that won’t discolor, anybody got any advice?  Thanks!
